ABOUT US
Who we are
Founded in January 2023, the Black Student Nurse Association (BSNA) mission is to establish a safe space for African American/Black/African nursing students. The Association aims to provide support services to minority nursing students and help them overcome the challenges they may face in the nursing profession.
BSNA aims to educate students by holding events to bring awareness to Black nurses' struggles in healthcare. This association provides community services to Black or minority communities, and presents mentorship and leadership opportunities to student nurses. BSNA is a non-segregated group that strives to bring a diverse representation and awareness to the student nurses at the University of Maryland School of Nursing, Baltimore.
